Oakland Raiders cornerback T.J. Carrie exhibits his toughness on a weekly basis by simply being there. Carrie suffered from a serious heart condition that ultimately required surgery while he was in high school. Doctors removed and replaced Carrie’s coronary valve, thus allowing Carrie to not only play football again, but possibly saving his life.

The camp is free and dedicated to children with heart disease, and Carrie was there as a guest as the camp celebrated its 15th annual Valentine Hearts Dinner.

During the event, Carrie took time to share his scars while speaking with some of the kids.
